Something I've been noticing more and more is the animated movies being made of late are seeming to follow a recurring pattern if not actual theme. Dunno if it's just the animation style, or if there's something more to it but big characters representing adults are often developing intense friendships with little characters representing children. Most recently "Wreck-It Ralph" occured to me as the big strong "adult" befriends the little "kid" as the adult character referred to her. There was nothing hinting at romance at least that I noticed, but the relationship in general stood out. And thinking on it, it was similar in "Rise of the Guardians" where the adult holiday figures (Santa, Jack Frost, Tooth Fairy, and Easter Bunny) are all obvious grown-ups yet befriending children. Now maybe it's just depicting the porper way for adults to interact with children, but I can't help but wonder if the subtext is adding to how adults in the real-world with pedophilic issues might be viewing children if they're watching these films. Subtext being these non-relative adults are going into children's bedrooms late at night, whisking them away to far off place, hugging and embracing and saying how they love each other, etc. If you translated the animation to a film and showed the same stuff, people'd freak and protest I'm sure.
Maybe it's nothing, but watch these things more critically and see if you'd agree.
