Collaboration between pedophiles and the police?

I think it could be possible that a pedophile could collaborate with the cops to ihelp dentify child molesters, to help prevent such crimes against children or help defining pedophilia and even contribute to stop this ridiculous mistake people made, that of thinking that pedophiles = child molesters. Please note how I use two terms differently, pedophile and child molester, as I strongly believe that they are complete different things and I believe that not every pedophile is a child molester and not every child molester is a pedophile. I know I am a pedophile, but I know and hope I will never be a child molester.
I do think a pedophile or maybe even a former child molester could help the police identify criminals or even prevent crimes or just collaborate somehow.
For example, in my country there is an unsolved case of a 13 year-old who was murdered and it's been 6 years and the police still have no clue whether it was a crime done by a child molester who accurately chose the victim and then tried to rape and murder her, or just a crime of a different nature.
I have my own theories on the case and I believe that it was a crime done by a child molester, maybe not a serial one but an occasional one, not necessarily pedophile, and a very smart person as he left no traces and got away with it.
While it is hard to write a psychological profile of the criminal, one thing to me is sure: he had the intention to molest her but something went wrong, he accomplished his fantasy to harm a young girl, and I'm sure he was following her and had the intention to hurt her way before he committed the crime. It was not random, he planned it. Cops still have no clue about it, but I feel like I can say it for sure.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think it could be useful for the police to collaborate with former criminals or with problematic people in general? I mean, a pedophile surely knows much more about pedophilia than any psychiatrist or any cop. A child molester, or at least, a particularly intelligent and cooperative one could find out much more about another child molester who committed the crime than any cop out there, that's my belief.
But...there's a but here. It would be like a lamb sharing its space with a wolf.

What are your opinions on that? Could a collaboration between these two figures be possible? Does it already happen somewhere?

It sounds feasible to me, and if it's not something the police do already, I think it should be, and here's why. When I was visited by Homeland Security last month for visiting websites that had underage material on them mixed in with legal age people, I informed them there are two different types of sites I've seen most frequented, and those are sites similar to YouTube where users repost videos and also blog sites with passworded torrent links to such material, and this was apparently news to them.

Granted that I knew this was happening so it's not like I'm not guilty. But I'd often report what I did find. I know A LOT of things from traveling in various online circles that I wish I didn't know, but at the same time, I've sometimes found myself stepping outside of my lust to do a bit of investigative work , and that ends up actually holding my interest far better than the lust. So it's of interest to me to help out wherever I can. That doesn't mean I intentionally go looking for that stuff, but if I stumble upon it, I take note of the comments sections. On one site, the perpetrators who filmed a boy actually gave details such as the kid's age, where the video was shot, and what they did. I reported it and the users immediately and quoted the comments.

I think if we all have the opportunity to do some good, that makes me feel better knowing I've helped to make the world a safer place.

Criminal offenders work with police a lot. No one better at putting themselves in a criminal's mind than another criminal. Hackers are often hired by the companies they hacked, and presumedly murderers are consulted when given life instead of execution. Why wouldn't it be the same with pedophiles.

It would be very useful for society, but society prefers wishing death on us instead of seeing us as human beings like everybody else who could even help build a better world.
