A simple doll? Might be helpful, might do absolutely nothing (other than relieve sexual urges in the same way masturbation might). Or I suppose with the right kind of person it could be harmful.
AI, though... I don't know. Imagine you have a robot programmed to act like a child, who actively seeks out and encourages sexual contact, one who appears completely well-adjusted and 'healthy', while having sex... It is easy to see how someone less mentally stable might start seeing that as the way a real child would/should react. Or it might focus the attraction more completely on the doll, assuming it responds and acts like a child really would in all ways except re: sexual contact.
