Hi ocdisnotone, I don't believe the Australian law on child pornography specifies where or how the material is obtained. So there is scope within the law for images that were obtained from legal adult sites (such as pornhub) to meet the definition of child pornography.

Yikes, that does sound a bit drastic! I'd suggest that you need to find a better way to deal with your anxiety/OCD before you go looking for more porn (of any type). Otherwise you may end up having to buy a lot of hard drives!

It would be inappropriate for anyone to answer these questions here as it could be seen to be giving instructions on how to obtain child porn and break the law. It sounds as though what you really want to ask is how to
avoid getting child porn and coming under the eye of the law. I would suggest that the Australian police are not going to come knocking on your door if you accidentally download the occasional pornographic image that depicts people of not-quite-legal-age. They have bigger fish to fry. But of course the best way to avoid getting caught doing the wrong thing is to not break the law in the first place.

Your internet service provider can give the police data showing which sites you accessed and which images you downloaded. Some people think they are anonymous by using VPNs and proxy servers, but there have been cases where the owners of the proxy servers have simply handed over the data to the police. So smashing your hard drive is not necessarily an effective solution, and it may even count as an attempt to destroy evidence. Perhaps it was effective for you though, because it helped you deal with your anxiety?
Ocdisnotone, have you thought about asking the police? A few times I've gone to the police station and just chatted to one of the cops to find out their perspective. They may offer you some tips on how to avoid breaking child pornography laws.
I'd also suggest posting in the OCD forum for support, rather than the Paraphilias forum. It sounds as if the real problem you need to deal with is your anxiety, not child pornography.
No diagnosis, lots of opinions, and a bunch of issues that I haven't quite figured out.
