My New Name..

Hi everyone,

I have recently changed my username from allahuakbar to MariaBee. It was offending other users and I was told by a moderator that it wasn't allowed so yeah.. Just wanted to let everyone know so that you are aware allahuakbar is still around; but with a new name :)

I don't see how any sane person ever would be offended by your previous name, but oh well, this isn't a place for sane people I guess.

Kind of sucks how you were forced to give in to ignorant people, but I understand why they would want you to change it. It's really just to avoid unnecessary conflicts. I'm thinking of changing mine as people seem to think it means a vampire... for some reason.

In case you've been living under a rock, a sizable contingent of Muslims are hyper sensitive to the point of murdering people over trivialities.

The first thing that comes to my mind is like an overhaul? A fresh start kind of thing? What is the true meaning behind it?

I know some Muslims are sensitive about terrorism, but I had no idea there were that many muslims offended by the phrase "Allahu Akbar," if that is what you are getting at. I guess I really have been living under a rock.

Well, it's clearly enough that a user was forced to change her because of it, so if that's a surprise to you then evidently you did underestimate their sensitivity.

For people that don't know it basically means to renew something, to recreate, patch up, renovate!
