Is it PPD need help

Postby kicha » Wed Oct 17, 2012 2:48 pm

I am married for nearly 20 years now and have 3 daughters aged between 18 yrs to 13 yrs.
For the last 10 years my wife seems to think that people are trying to harm her, although she cannot give specific instances.
Even slight innocuous remarks by others and she starts to thinks that it is against her.
She has resigned from 2 jobs now, saying that people are trying to harm her, now she is looking for a new job.
She keeps on firing servants as she suspects them.
She does not trust her inlaws who live in different city, she does not talk to even her parents and sisters now.
Se refuses to take psychiatric help of any type, even such a suggestion by me makes her think I am her enemy .
Now she has convinced herself that she wants to give divorce and live with the children.
Due to my job I live in different city for past 4 years, many times I have asked her to join me, but it is of no use. I come home every 15 days for 1-2 days on holidays or on birthdays.
I love her very much and do not want to divorce her. For the last 10 years it as been a nearly one sided relationship.
Actually she confuses me, when in good mood it feels like nothing has happened, she takes good care of everyone and is considerate.
Her actions look very much like “Paranoid personality disorder” but I cannot be certain as she refuses to go to a psychiatrists.
As a first step I want to confirm if my thoughts are correct, do you think if I go to a physiatrist and describe, will he be able to help us.
Any other hints would be helpful, divorce is not a option, I can never leave her or children.
