Carrying weapons?

I do carry something for protection when I go out, something inconspicuous and easy to get to. Hauling around a large knife would be a good way to attract unwanted attention.

Only worry about being attacked if I am alone somewhere, but it is on my mind a lot, the possibility, and I keep tabs on every passerby. It's ridiculous.

No hypervigilance with people and their possibly saying horrible things about me. This was something I preoccupied myself with when younger.
