Postby patm3300 » Fri Nov 25, 2005 6:24 pm

i have never had any panic attack in my live before two months ago. two weeks after i had started taking zoloft i had three panic attacks, so my doctor switched me over to prozac. over the time i have been taking prozac, i am feeling my anxiety get worse and worse all the time. i had a panic attacks two days ago. do you experience an increased amount of panic attacks and if so do you think it is because of your medication

Anxiety can happen anytime. You may not experience for 20 yrs and then all of a sudden be panic ridden. Side effects of medication is also anxiety for alot of anti-depressants.

Also though it could be more then that, something could have triggered it and you didn't even realize it.

dealing with anxiety is even tougher for me than depression personally. i think i am going to have to start taking risperdal during the day, because it helps a lot with anxiety even though it makes you very drowsy. it is going to be hard for me to go running while taking risperdal but it is worth a try.

I deal with depression better then my anxiety at times as well, only with specific things, otherwise it's under control.

in my experiance, risperdal actually wasn't that bad for making me drowsy, it did it a little bit at first, but then that evened out, and i took it at night, so it made me sleep better, but i'd actually be able to wake up better than i had ever in my life, all i'm saying is for me, it wasn't so bad, update me on how your body does with it, it's always interesting to hear about others who took, or are taking somthing that i did
somtimes, it's like i want to touch these lights, and give into them become them, just a flash for a moment~in this world

you havent slept for 5 days? yeah i would tell your psychiatrist about your sleeping problem because that sure isnt going to make your depression any better. i think that risperdal would definitely be a big help to you. it helps my mind to calm down and it stops it from racing. i find that it makes me very drowsy and puts me write to sleep. if you have any more questions about some of the side effects of prozac, then i would suggest the book "prozac backlash" it is a very informational book written by a good doctor. i have provided a link to the book below.
