I didn't want you to feel as if implied that you definitely DO have any of these disorders. I am simply stating that these are some of the disorders that cause pain especially in the lower extremities as you mentioned.

I am very new to this forum, I love health topics and suffer with many health issues myself.
I do a lot of research for friends and family, and have a wealth of knowledge. I realize I need to be more careful about using the proper terms in discussing these topics in this forum. I have a strong desire to assist others as well as to help alleviate suffering. When you are confused by symptoms it is great to know there are answers out there.

I hope that you might ask your Dr. for a full spinal evaluation along with x-rays, cat scans and MRIs, Take a list of questions so as to ask him about all the different spinal problems, such a sciatica and degenerative disc disease. These are very painful, and I hope you can obtain the correct diagnosis, along with peace of mind and ultimately feel better.

NOTE: I have used Chiropractic care as well as massage therapy and acupuncture successfully for my back pain, and I know of many others who have also explored these options with very good results. I feel it might be good idea to ask your Dr. if either of these might be suitable options for you.

I have a very screwed up case of fibro. But then which case of fibro is NoT screwed up.

for me only one thing worked: the med Lyrica. No morphines, no opiates in general, no other painkillers.
Topamax helps even more when added to Lyrica. Bothe of them make you ditzy and 'drunk' for the first days (up to 5 days) but if you decide to have fun, you realize you are drunk 'for free' without the drinks.

Exercises did help but I overdid it and ended up so sick I couldn't move.

Zoloft seemed to exaggerate my fibro.

So basically very constant but light-medium exercises (you still can do like, crossfit, just lesser weight and smaller steps in generals; at cardio training, pilates or yoga you can ask for a modified program, when running watch yourself.

And in my case the meds I mention.
I know they dont work for all, but since lyrica wrked OVERNIGHT (my p-doc was all snooty " well if it worked overnight rest assured it was not the lyrica" and I just ignored him, it is said this med worksfrom1 to 5-7 days.)

I don't know if that was helpful at all, but I just shred what's up with me and give a shout out I also hae fibro and some other sh*t I don't even wanna list coz it's obvs, like CFS, blabla. It's all collected into one disease in fibro.

Best to you. How are you, how do you deal with it right now?

My fibromyalgia is very severe. After a bad back injury, I was barely able to get out of bed for 3 months. Every day I kept hoping to feel better but I never did. My chiropractor pointed me in the direction of pain management. I wish I didn't have to... but Lyrica made me SLEEP.

I have disc injuries along with degenerative disc disease, as confirmed recently through MRI and x-rays. Fibromyalgia intensified my pain and If I didn't take these meds, I wouldn't be able to get out of bed. Pain has had a huge impact in my life... and I thank GOD for modern medicine.

My Pain Management Dr told me one day that he could imagine me eventually having Spinal Cord Stimulation. here's some info in case you haven't heard of it...
Spinal cord stimulation (SCS) is a procedure that uses an electrical current to treat chronic pain. A small pulse generator, implanted in the back, sends electrical pulses to the spinal cord. These pulses interfere with the nerve impulses that make you feel pain.
(Something to look forward to, huh??? I HOPE NOT)

I know not everyone has it to that degree, and I hope non-narcotic meds will work for you.
ALL THE BEST

I have Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia: the Fibro pain is not so great that I can't endure it most of the time, but it is sufficiently bad that it gradually grinds me into the ground because it is there constantly, but to varying degrees. I have never liked taking pain medication because I feel sick afterwards and it upsets my IBS.

I think Fibro is a catch-all diagnosis when the medical profession don't really know.

I was given a sample of Lyrica to try, but I had the most severe suicidal nightmare that I swore off any medication: it was so terrifying it is indescribable. I have always experienced anxiety, but this was in a whole new league. I react to antidepressants and anti-psychotics and feel so sick that I would rather have the conditions than the treatment, but to live with chronic pain and exhaustion is very depressing.

I'm sure there is more going on with me than just Fibro and Fatigue as it seems all my muscles have become weaker: my bowels seem to have some trouble contracting and I can never void completely.

This is an issue that has only existed since around 2005 when I suddenly developed all the symptoms after a course of Combivir. The medical profession refuse to believe that it is anything but coincidence, however I was relatively okay before and debilitated afterwards. I was very sick on the Combivir, with symptoms similar to the current CF & Fibro but more severe and I almost gave it away after 2 weeks because I felt so bad. Completing the 4 week course was a relief, but the symptoms remained to a lesser extent.

From what I have been reading, anti-retrovirals can damage mitochondria and if they are already compromised, can send them into barely functional mode, hence the fatigue and pain (muscles not able to adequately convert glucose to energy).

Doctors have no answer for this condition, so I have been diagnosed with conversion disorder!

Have you been tested and retested for Lyme Disease? And diseases carried by ticks? Because this kind of paralysis is a classic symptom. It is really important to be diagnosed as early as possible. If you have not been tested -do it TODAY! Chronic Lyme is a debilitating condition! :(
