Using my own pride and ignorance, i got myself a rather impressive hernia wile i was in the marines. Once they operated they stapled a nerve to my hip bone, but by the time they went in to re operate, so much scar tissue had formed they ended up damaging three more nerves in my lower abdomen and were unable to get to the staple. Now they tell me that the over use of my right leg is straining the nerves on that side(which was also operated on and has a similar mass of scar tissue wrapped around the nerves), and the damage on my frontal nerves is making my sciatic nerve on my left side wear out at an alarming speed. The limp/funny walk cause by my only partially functional left leg and worsening right leg is now causing my worsening lower back pain.
now that i have skimmed the surface of all that B.S. of my pain, i need advice as to what to do. I have an open door policy with the pain management clinic, and can get as many of any pill i want to help deal with the pain. The problem is, I was on opioid from right after the first surgery to 3 months after the second surgery(a total of 9 months). For obvious reasons i ended up addicted to them. So i don't wana take them anymore, even tho they are the only thing that makes the pain go away, but not taking anything for the pain is making it harder and harder to not use a cane to walk. This wouldn't be a problem, except im 22 years old, and still have to find a stable life, and a girl to marry, and all that crap that young people hope to do with there life. Im trying to find a way to not start myself down a long detrimental path to a useless leg(more then it already is) or an impossibly bad addiction to pain killers by the time im 30.
