Hey,

Thanks for posting again my friend. It sounds good that they have specifically located the problem now. I guess, getting used to the after-effects won't be too bad because you are already used to day-in day-out reduced functionality, right? My gut has been pretty uncomfortable these past few weeks and I'm struggling to be happy each day because of it.

We'll get there evntually... ...just hang in.

Good to see you also. Yes, decreased functioning, etc. and will be okay with the healing process.

You asked if I was nervous about it all and I answered not really. Well things change. It's not so much the healing process now but the surgery itself. A bunch of worse case senario's have come to mind lately but I try not to think about them too much. Talking about them has helped some and I guess that will have to do.

Wish everything was okay with you. Hoping for better days ahead for you and that something at some point in time can be done to help you.

Will be back again soon.

Hey,

If you're getting nervous then - yeh - talk about it to, well, anyone really. For solid advice, I'm sure you can talk to your doctor/surgeon. For other friendly support, talk to your friends or family. i'm sure that all will understand your nerve and will only be too happy to help you.

Take care,
Kevin

Hey, how have you been doing lately?

Talked to his nurse soon after I posted and that helped alot. I also did something else that I do that helps even more than that. So, better and ready to get this over with.

Really sorry about the time lapse of my last post. May be back before Thursday if not see ya when I get back.

Hey again,

I've been the same as usual: Either pain or discomfort each and every day. Oh well, that's just the way it is and I never complain about it, only when asked.

Anyway, good luck with your procedure (that's what you are referring to, right?). Report back here after it and bring good news :)

Take care,
Kevin

Yes, that is what I was talking about. Sorry to hear all is not well with you wish there was more the doctor's could do to help you out.

Surgery went well at least that is what I was told. :D Can't remember too much of what was said due to the medication's I was on at the time. They left me quite :? Will be able to have questions answered at my follow-up appointment next month or before if I get impatient.

Taking medication for pain and muscle spasms. Am able to walk around with a back brace on, cook easy meals, shower and some other things. :) Have to be really careful not to bend, twist, etc. or I could injure myself and undo what the surgeon did. Will be honest, it hurts worse than before ( ) but this too shall pass ( :) ).

It will be a while before anyone knows if the surgery was a complete success. Until then am glad it is over with and that I went through with it.

Will be back later. Until then take care.

Okay, thank you for the update my friend. Don't forget to eat exactly what they tell you to, too. I think that a high-protein diet will be good for you because a lot of building work needs to be done in your body. Calcium-rich foods too, I'm sure, should be things that you should specifically try to eat.

The pains that I mentioned earlier regarding myself are not too bad now. Right now, I am just in the 'discomfort' phase.

Kevin.

Wasn't given any "what to eat" information by the doctor. Wonder why? Foods rich in calcium are already in my diet. That along with whole grains, fruits and vegetables. Reckon will have to add more protein. Looked online and found that it doesn't have to come from meat. Foods like almonds (no salt), peanut butter, beans, lentils, etc. are rich in protein. Good thing to because I am not much of a meat eater. Every once in a while (like today) I will eat meat but it is not a regular part of my diet.

Been a decent but really busy day. This is the first time I have been able to R&R for more than 5 minutes. Didn't even get to take my nap which is crutial for me. Oh well, such is life.

Hope all is well with you today.

Later.

Hey again,

Another protein-rich food is Tofu, which is very popular amongst vegetarians. It is best-served with fried vegetables and - if you like - rice or pasta. Nuts are rich in protein too. For example: Brazil-nuts, Almonds, etc.

Whatever the case, best of luck with your recovery. This can be a new challenge for you!

Saw my neurosurgeon not too long ago and he said that in someways I am a head of schedule. No bone growth yet but he did not expect to see any yet. Have an appointment next month to see how things are progressing.

Doing my best to not think about "What if the bone doesn't grow? What then?" Kind of difficult sometimes but not at others.

Had a minor set back with pain level due to something I did but I do not know what. Could have been any number of things. Just glad I have med's to take care of it and a TEN'S unit that helps sometimes also.

Sorry about how long I have been gone. Two hurricane's back to back, no electricity for almost a week and lots to do after it did come back on. Should be around more often

Thanks for the info. on what to eat it has been quite helpful.
