Do I have OCD?

I am an 18 year old girl, and have recently become very paranoid and almost obessed with the fact that i may have some form of OCD. i look back on my life and am thinking my childhood behaviors are all signs of OCD. I was obsessed with a singer and posted pictures everywhere of her, i hoard old magazines i collected pokemon cards and had many other colections that i still have today and cannot get rid of because i fear that i will need them someday. I do this with clothes too. But what has been happening fairly recently is what lead me to believe that I may have OCD - I cannot stop bir\ting and chewing my lower lip. For a long time, I have been picking all of the skin inside my lips off and constatnly biting at it, and i couldnt stop. Recently I have been just bting my lower lip 24/7, my moth is all scarred up and all the skin HAS to be picked or bitten off! i dont know how to stop, i feel as though i cant. Do you think i have OCD? I didnt think anything of my compulsive lip picking and biting until very recently and although i know its bad and an ugly habit i cannot stop. Please help!

Hi, caligirl159! We can't tell you for sure if you have OCD or something else but it does sound like you have some compulsions. You could tell your regular doctor about them and ask for help, maybe they'll send you to a therapist or counselor.
Does any kind of distraction help at all? Maybe mints or chewing gum for the lip biting or something.
