How long until Prozac starts having affect on HOCD?

Postby GreatMan1991 » Wed Nov 30, 2011 2:44 pm

I just started taking Prozac yesterday and I feel like nothing has changed. Still looking at guys, still getting minor groinal responses, still feel less attracted to women than I was before. How long till it starts taking effect?

Yeh...I have had it before. With Benzio'a like Prozac it needs to build-up in your systm. There is a minnimum dose everyone takes. Its because the doctor has no idea how it will work, if it works, and how much your body needs. What the doctor will give the prescription of so many many milligrams. (minimum dose). You might tell him/her that its not working/like taking candy or it's way to strong even on that tiny dose.

When you tell the doctor the dosage will increase until it takes effect. The body likes to balance itself out. You put something into the body that normally is not subosed to be there, it has no choice to cooperate. So it adjusts. This called platueing (or what ever the spelling.) Then you tell the doctor it'ss not working or it started working and is nolonger is taking effect. Then the meds increase.

So, the answer to your question is it's different for every single person. :)
