Black outs?

Postby justlovisa » Tue Sep 13, 2005 8:50 pm

Hi there,

I just sort of want to know if anyone else experience any sort of black outs?
Almost always when I am telling a story I black out and don´t know where in the story I was. It can happen several times after each other and sometimes I usually have to wait quite a while to "find my way back". Its tiering and really embarrassing but I am sure it has to do with the fact that so much stuff is going on in my head.

Anyone recognice this?

Hi,

Yeah, I also experience it when I am like if Iam going to go get something in another room and when I get there I cant even begin to remember what I was going to do there. Also I am very absent minded and forget things easily. Its a pain in the a##, really.

Anyway, its good to hear your not alone.

The same thing happens to me, it's kinda embarassing because it can be mid - conversation and you have to wait for it to pass or grab onto something to keep from falling down.

Fainting

Postby miss clean » Mon Sep 19, 2005 10:43 pm

As a kid, I used to faint a lot! I have always been OCD and had a problem with anxiety. I was molested sexually, but it was not physically painful, it was emotionally painful.
I was scared of my father the molester. Could this fainting problem be emoitonally related? I remember being scared a lot as a kid!

I have also been diagnosed Post-traumatic stress disorder(chronic). Can this also cause fainting?

Hi there,

I am sorry to hear what you have been through. I dont know but I would not think it was strange if you fainting a lot was connected to your fear, I am pretty sure that would be a connection.

Tace care now, Lovisa.

I think that the poor short-term memory and black-outs are directly related to too much happening in the mind at any one time. Stress and anxiety would probably be at play on the side too.

I only experience black-outs when I am out walking through the city (Dublin, Ireland). I could be walking and then suddenly stop, forget where I am and what I'm doing... ...and then everything returns about two seconds later.

I guess these black-outs could be seen as being like a head-rush. Do ye get me? During a head-rush you get up too fast. During a black-out we are thinking (Obsessing) too fast.

yfguitarist, I also sometimes nearly fall down during a black-out. I never have but I just stumble. Again, it's probably just the brain going into overdrive. The central-thoughts in your head are stealing all the energy and starving other parts of the brain responsible for regular functions.

... ...It's the psychological version of 'tripping-up'. :)

No, I just can't see and I start shaking and lose control of my legs. I guess they're head rushes since they're when I stand up, but I never see them happen to anyone else the way they happen to me.
