Interesting thread. I am a chronic leg jiggler. Makes my husband nuts. Anxiety, boredom sounds good. I seem to do it unconsiously. In fact, I was just doing it when I was reading threads in this forum.
Curious...does any one shake one leg over the other? For me it is usually my left...and that is not my doiminant side, as I am right handed.

I usually shake my right leg or both legs at the same time. I think I like doing it because I like to always be moving.

A common description of the problem is periodic leg movement and restlessness even during sleep. In about 70 percent of patients, there may be too many shocks. Considered a form of sleep disorder, RLS can have significant physical and emotional impact on patients, many of which tend to get more agitated at night and unable to sleep.

So I just decided to look up why ppl continuously shake their leg because I've always shook my leg since I was young. I never notice I'm doing it until someone complains about it. My grandma says I'm a nervous reck but I'm never nervous when I shake it just comforts me I do it when I lay down mostly I'm doing it right now actually I only know 2 other ppl with this habit which is my fiancé and my best friend. It's crazy but I think it's normal .. It reminds me of ppl that suck their thumb to relax

I do this when I am in bed sometimes. It helps me sleep.

If it does not disrupt your life, or cause issues in another person's life - and you enjoy it. Have at it. ;)

Oh boy, I'm ALWAYS shaking my leg, my right one, to be exact. Right now, as we are talking, my leg is shaking. It's just nervous energy, nothing to be alarmed about. I've had ADHD since I was a child, so this is nothing new to me. When you suffer from an anxiety related illness, this is just one of those things that will happen.
