i have read that depression can sometimes be caused by other anxiety/personality disorders. i feel like there is a strong chance i have this but i don't know if i should bring it up to my doctor. like- wouldn't he have noticed if i actually had it? i don't want to seem like a hypochondriac i guess i just want to know for sure. my question is this- should i mention it to my doctor or should i just keep quiet. i'm ot one hundred percent sure i know a lot of people talk anout germ phobias? i don't have a germ phobia but i have a lot of little rituals that i have to do or i start to feel uncomfortable. if i should talk to him (majority rules pretty much) how would i bring something like this up?

I would tell your doctor exactly what it is that you do for rituals and that it causes you anxiety if you don't do them. I just came right out and told them what I do.

I would certainly bring it up and be absolutly honest. Don't play it up and make it sound bigger than it is and most certainly don't down-play it like it's just a passing fancy if it isn't.
Mental illnesses do tend to come in pairs or bunches, that's why they have the axis tier diagnosis system.
