Hi everyone, im new to this board and I compulsively pull out my hair. Im 29 now and the hair folicals are not producing a root anymore, ie balding

. Im currently taking SSRI meds to help but it doesnt really help me with my pulling. Ive done a little bit of research and know that theres is no actual cure yet, but I was wondering if anyone has any ideas to help me not pull?
Thanks in advance!!

Hello,
Your hair pulling is a habit you are doing as a result of your underlying anxiety.
The key to solving the hair pulling is by solving the anxiety.
What do think is causing your anxiety?
Can you pinpoint any memories from your past that are painful now when you think about them?
If so you can start to heal them.

Thanks for your input

. Your right in the sense of the underlying problem being anxiety. My schedule is crazy so i know im under alot of stress. I work 2 jobs, go to school, and i have a 4 year old. I need some more tricks to keep me from pulling. When i was younger i tried rubberbands around my wrists, snapping them when i pull. It didnt work. I shaved my head bald but i pull on my facial hair now. I try to keep my hands busy but its not enough.
