Urge to scream

Postby rainbow21 » Wed Dec 10, 2008 5:22 pm

So the newest thing in my psychosis-whatever-I-have is that now I have the urge to scream in most inappropriate times such as when I'm in classes. Thankfully I've been able to hold this down. I'm on 4mg Risperidal and 50mg Sertraline. I was thinking of increasing the dosage of risperidone by 1mg. Any suggestions to how I might be able to drive this thing away? It's driving me insane. Now I'm anxious about classes because of it.

Hi, rainbow! If you want to change your dosage, you should check with your doctor first. Maybe tell them about this too.
When the urge comes, you could try to do something that you know distracts you. What helped make the other urges go away?

I know that but I was thinking of changing the dosage just for tomorrow so I can make it through the classes. What helped I think was the increasing of medication. I had different urges and now they're gone and replaced by this one =/ I would do something to distract me but I can't do much in class except listen to the teacher speaking. Will I ever get a break from these things I wonder...

By having great, quality time when you are NOT in classes. Do things you really enjoy : sports, art, movies, socializing, hiking , etc

rainbow, i dont know your age and gender, but I feel you are a young girl who needs a b/f, i.e. love and attention from a partner. . i reviewed your symptoms and it just what it suggests to me

thoughts of killing family members = you are annoyed by them or something about them

classes = annoyed by teacher, class mates or the lecture

Do you also have sensations that make you feel like you are going to " jump out of your own skin " ?

if possible, indicate your sex and age. if you prefer not to, it's ok. but it will certainly help in the analysis.

I'm female and 21 years old. Yeah it must be because of boredom. I don't really have any other activity besides college and I never dated anyone. Still looking for the right person and someone that can put up with me...
No I don't have that feeling. I do feel as if I'm not myself sometimes, as if I am someone else.

yes, that may be it. You are in the age when your hormones are raving, and the body has its physiological urges that are not to be denied. Do your best to socialize and find a nice young man to look after you. I believe it will be beneficial for your condition.

Try to " act out" confidence, even if you don't have it. ( in social interactions ). Try impersonation of someone you know that is very confident.

you can do it

:)
