New thing for me

A while back I noticed some strange things going on. I never mentioned this to my Therapist back then but as I am reading some of these posts I feel that her thought of me being OCD made a lot more sense. Sometimes I would speak a word or would be talking to someone then while there talking I would start spelling the last word that I said in my head. It was a constant thing. I just took it as me trying to keep my brain going or keeping my spelling right. Im now doing it on impulse. I don't even think about it. I don't do it all the time. I also noticed that I do this when I am reading. I will always make sure that I double check my reading. Like I read the sentence a few times so I can actually understand it. Another issue to chalk on my list

I don't know if that is ocd, but it could be. Tell your therapist they will know.
Having to read a sentence over and over again may be because of racing thoughts or you are distracted (perhaps with spelling the word). I have that problem.

I was thinking that too. Sometimes I can't concentrate on anything because my brain is going a mile a minute. So I must re-read a sentence to understand it. Its really annoying and its driving me crazy...Good point!

Hmm, I definitely have problems like that....the rereading sentences is just my A.D.D. But the spelling could very well be O.C.D......'cause I do that too. There are certain words I just...HAVE to spell out in my head...sometimes when I read them, when I hear them, whatever. I used to spell the words in my head, AND put the vowels together and consonants together. That was super annoying. Stuff like that...I do a lot.

I do that too!! Were you diagnosed with ADD considering the situation?
