OCD, but anxiety instead of rituals? anti-self?

Postby ai_ayumi » Sat Sep 22, 2007 6:24 pm

i had OCD as a child, but i got older, the symptoms subsided so much that i don't even do rituals anymore. but i'm still not completely rid of OCD's shadow.

as the rituals stopped, anxiety increased. i still am constantly upset by the "anti-self", which kept on bringing up intrusive unpleasant thoughts. but the more i want to fight, forget, or stop caring about it, the worse it gets. and now i'm so afraid of the "anti-self" popping up, that the mere thought of it brings about anxiety.

is this still OCD? or something diff?

help plz!

Hey,

This actually soumds like it is 'Pure-O', OCD. It has been mentioned here a few times throughout the past year or so. Basically it means that you only obsess without the compulsions / rituals.

Another branch of OCD - OCPD (OC-Personality-D) - is where you are obsessed with routines, looking neat, etc.
