Question for those with POCD

Postby themole123 » Sat Jul 04, 2020 4:14 am

TRIGGER WARNING NSFW

I have a question for you people diagnosed with POCD, when your obsessive thoughts don't consume you, do you find yourself just naturally being attracted to who you're supposed to be attracted to because the obsessive thoughts aren't there to make you doubt it as much?

For example, I was really attracted to a guy my age for ages and thought about him all the time and wanted to do things with him and looked forward to seeing him etc. When I made out with him I got really turned on and wet and I loved the feeling of him inside me and stuff, and kissing him and I just had no problem getting excited and enjoyed having sexual interations with him when my obsessive thoughts weren't in the way of our relationship

But as soon as my obsessive thinking comes back it feels like that was all fake and I feel so much anxiety that I don't see him attractively anymore or at least my anxiety tells me I don't and it was all a distraction

Am I alone on this?

I know what you mean. I can understand the feeling. The thing is that OCD makes us doubt ourselves and seek reasurrence. Have you looked up ERP treatment?

I got POCD a couple of years ago and it just vanished a year then it came back this summer and i looked it up and i realized i got POCD. I do the ERP by myself but i can't recommened that to you because i don't know you. I can say that it works really well and gives really good results.
