Personally, diet was part of what changed my life. OCD is a complicated beast through, and may have different underlying causes in different people.
In my own case, it turned out an immune system dysfunction I had was aggravating my OCD, so by eating an anti-inflammatory diet (which here meant no red meat or poultry, no nightshades like tomatoes or peppers, reduced grains and reduced processed foods, but lots of veggies tofu and ginger) made a huge difference for me. But not everyone is going to see be helped like that however, just like not everybody is going to be helped by the same medicine.
That said, eating a balanced and healthy diet, getting good sleep, exercising regularly but not over-strenuously, and doing things you love with people you care about will all cut way way down on bodily stress, which can be a major shift on its own. Anything that stresses out your body stresses out your brain, and anything that stresses out your brain can make your OCD worse.
If you think you have difficulty with keeping healthy habits (and OCD makes it really challenging to develop them) maybe try prioritizing it for three months and seeing if you notice a difference?
Mere "anxiety," as Heidegger says, is at the source of everything.
