Saw trailer for Love, Simon* HOCD spike

I was on Youtube and I saw the trailer for Love, Simon. I let it play just because and learned the movie is based on a book about a teenager coming out. I spiked and immediately thought his story was my story. I never had a girlfriend in high school, or ever, and the setting of the film is in the state of Georgia, which is where I live. I continue to tense up and wonder if I should come out and if I should get a boyfriend. It sounds both silly and somewhat scary regarding what I just wrote.
