Cannibalism Ocd *trigger* please help

Postby InkJoy123 » Mon Aug 14, 2017 9:49 pm

I used to deal with Pocd and Hocd, Pocd is still kinda there but I handle it very good now, but suddenly im starting to get cannibalism thoughts and actually urges. Some examples *trigger warning* my tongue i would want to bite on it very hard, my fingers when i lick them i want to rip out the flesh, etc. Also when I see people sometimes Id get thoughts. Its hurting me very much right now (no medication and I am too young) and I wanna know how to forget about these thoughts and these urges. Please I really need help on this. Ive dealt with these type of thoughts and urges (pocd urges are way less now) but i just need to know what I should do better with these. Thank you for reading.

I'm not sure I would call it Cannibalism Ocd. But people seem to be into naming their OCD, so whatever.

I have been down this road. *TW*. I used to think about biting off my finger at the knuckle to see what that was like, and sometimes other parts. I didn't really want to do it, and never did, but I couldn't stop the flow of thoughts about it. They were so intense I could feel the act happening (aside from pain), the "texture" of things.

Needless to say the difference between this being OCD and something different is how serious you follow through. If you start doing things to harm yourself or others then it is something else (although you can still have OCD along with the self-harm, etc).

You never too young to see a doctor and as far as meds go, I would think you have to be pretty young not to be offered them.

Try to distract yourself. Like so many people with OCD the obsessions jump around and that seems to be happening with you. It's sad that for most of us - to be clear of one obsession we have to wait until the new obsession starts - the one we have is always the worst.

good luck, Otter.
