There's something in the air

Postby reachingout » Tue Aug 08, 2017 7:37 pm

Hi, I have OCD and 2 cats. One cat I've had for a few years. After we adopted her from the shelter she was all good except when she uses the litter box she scratches and scratches at the sides of the box for a long time for no apparent reason. Recently we adopted a kitten. He was acting normal at first but now he obsessively licks and bites the end of his tail all the time. I googled this behavior and it turns out these are marks of OCD in cats. It seems more than coincidence that this is happening. I dont understand though, I dont perform any outward rituals usually. Mine are mostly mental and avoiding situations that aggravate my obsessions. It seems weird to me. Its like they sense the anxiety in the air and they're trying to cope with it too.
