Does anyone else obsessively repeat random words or phrases to themselves over and over? I seem to do this to avoid getting intrusive thoughts, or at least the word repetition seems to keep intrusive thoughts away.
For example, I repeated the phrase "Reservoir Dogs" (despite never seeing that movie

) to myself the other day to avoid overthinking and I just thought it was strange and a little silly, and I realize I do it a lot more at other times.
Does anyone else do things similar to this or am I alone?

I also do this! Because I'm scared evil things will hurt my family I repeat "theres nothing bad going to happen to my family" around 10 times. And ugh I now got the thought 'well nothing bad but maybe something terrible?' so I guess I'm replacing bad with terrible next time.
Also other words I repeat as a sort of counter for terrible words or things.
