I can't seem to get clean enough. I shower every 6 hours like clockwork.
I have a closet full of indie bath and body products. I have spent thousands on them. Kinda ###$ up my credit..
It's taken a toll on my skin and hair too..

Does it make you feel clean after you take a shower? I highly doubt its a physical thing and my advice would be to limit the amount of times you shower since it only creates other problems like skin and hair problems or perhaps you should not use so many products, just take shower without using any products and see if you feel any better. In this case, at least you are not doing anything bad to your body.

I don't have the contamination part of needing to shower I just take lots of showers. I'm better and was way better for a while but now I'm slipping again sometimes. I had taken like 10 showers in one day last year.

As long as I feel reasonably clean going to bed, I'm good.
I absolutely cannot stand going to bed if I perceive myself as dirty, even when I'm not particularly so.
other than that, I'm happy I've never had the showering problem.

Hi
Maybe try to just say 'no' to your ocd. I know it's difficult since when I was younger I had the compulsion to wash my hands , doing rituals, they really were a waste of time but still I HAD to do them. You can also try to do this step-by-step. Like when you feel the need to shower, wait 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes,.. I know it's hard but maybe this will help. Offcourse I'm not a psychologist but I remember this from my therapy.

If it's interfering with normal activities then I agree YES. At some point you just have to say 'no' and walk away from it- it's simple, but not easy. Still it can be done.
