Paedophile or POCD?

Postby WeirdKid » Sun Mar 27, 2016 12:54 am

I had beaten my POCD for almost two years back when I was 13-14. Now it's back and really making me feel so vile and disgusting.
I have groinal responses all the time, but only around my younger sister who I was completely fine being around years ago without experiencing this problem. I always have had paranoia about being a pedo and sometimes feel the urge to mentally test myself (masturbating while thinking of what I'm scared of being attracted to) and I have these groinal responses! Even if I just think about thinking of the though I instantly have a strong groinal response. Sometimes if I force myself to actually get a groinal response it doesn't even occur, is this because groinal responses are out of my control or what?
I really hate having to test myself constantly, I know it only makes the OCD worse but it's starting to make me believe I have some weird attraction that I don't want to have. It really makes me want to just scourge myself from this planet.

Dear WeirdKid:

I think that groinal responses are very common in teenagers, for any reason and any trigger almost, because of your age. I don't think being ... groinal-trigger happy is evidence for anything but the fact that your sexuality is a powerful part of you.

Hi WeirdKid. Atina is right. Take it from us older folk, teenagers are very sexually charged and could get a groinal response over anything or nothing at all.

Sorry to hear that you're going through this struggle with POCD. Do you think you might be able to see a psychologist to help you deal with this?
