Wifes obsession that I am gay

My wife was diagnosed with OCD about 20 years ago.It was triggered by our children having headlice.She went thr counseling and her obsession in that are has leveled although she still has compulsions to triple check everything before leaving home. Recently she went thru another stressful time with grandkids having headlice,Her mom going into longterm care and many other life changes including going to work full time where she has to deal wuthe the general public daily.
She is now obsessing that I am Gay and that there are rumors around town to that effect.No one has said that or even hinted that to her in conversation she says its just a feeling she has. She brings up things from 25 years ago to support her obsession such as, She says I was flirting with a male client(we had a business at that time) I have reassured her repeatedly that I am not gay and that there are no rumors to that effect. Of course she has cited other things to support her obsession that I won't go into detail here. Has anyone else experienced this situation?If so I would love to hear how you handled it.

I didn't encounter a situation where someone obsesses another person is gay but it is as possible as any other obsession (HOCD by proxy...)

Did you think about your wife going to counseling again? The latest life changing situations and her work may be too much for her and triggered her OCD.

Maybe self help groups can help her such as for adults taking care of aging parents..?
