POCD, why?!

Postby RoseRainbow2 » Mon Mar 14, 2016 6:21 am

I wish i could be a normal teenager without ocd and i could become a mom when im older but im so afraid. It's killing me from the inside. I have a bf and i love him so much, if he knew i had these kinds of worries he would leave me asap.

Idk i just feel worthless. :(

Your fears revolve around pedophilia because it's the last thing you want to be. With OCD, it's the stuff that matters most to us that worries us and makes us obsess the most. The fact that you are worrying about it, is good. It shows that you will not attack a child, no matter how "strongly" you feel you might. It's anathema to your sense of self.

Like NimplyDinply says. It really is the fear factor.

I have POCD which centers around intrusive thoughts that someone I know could be a 'P', or that I might get accused of being one. I really don't want to even think the 'P' word, let alone be constantly ruminating over why it keeps popping into my head. Every time I think the word 'P' I worry that this word could change me or that I might go to prison. It really is the fear of it and it's totally irrational - just like your POCD is.

OCD could pick on literally anything, but it just happens that 'Ps' are particularly frightening.
