POCD Issues - Need Advice! :(

I don't even watch the news or TV or movies for that matter because of HOCD.

I can totally relate to that. I wouldn't watch any TV or a movie about anything that's related to sex and underage people.

Thank you everyone for all of your responses. They've made me smile and I really appreciate the support. I'm having a rough day because of new thoughts and feelings that are now occurring. I forced myself to imagine that if it was completely legal, would I be ok with sexual feelings towards children and for a second, I thought "yes and that I would want that." But then immediately, I felt HORRIBLE. I don't want to have sexual urges or desires to children. I absolutely hate this.

Someone please answer this... Could this be an OCD thing as well? How can OCD cause actual unwanted urges/desires. I feel like complete crap over it.

I've had urges and impulses to shout out homophobic insults in public. I'm not even homophobic and don't think there's anything wrong with being gay. I believe that unwanted urges are part of the diagnostic criteria for OCD.

Sorry to hear that you're having a bad day.

My POCD obsession has slowly been changing. I have been able to talk about it with mental health professionals and I can accept that I'm not a P, but the obsession has moved to being falsely accused of it.

I've sent you a PM but yes, those impulses can totally be a part of OCD. I also have them and they are horrible!
