Different kinds of intrusive thoughts?

Postby -tanja- » Mon Feb 08, 2016 12:48 pm

I wonder what kind of intrusive thoughts you have, not the different topics but the way they appear. I have images that suddenly pop up, something like intrusive ideas like "I COULD totally do this or that." and something like unwanted impulses. What about you?

I've been out and about and I've had an image pop into my head of shoving a kid or old person over. Also been around babies being changed on the floor and suddenly an image will pop into my head of someone treading on it. Urges to yell out homophobic stuff in public places - I won't say what. I guess the troubling part is wondering whether I enjoyed the thoughts and could act on them.

I had similar urges/impulses to scream stuff or to start doing something inappropriate during class.

Yes, for me the troubling part is also wondering whether I enjoyed them and could act on them. Do you play them in your head over and over again to figure out whether you enjoyed them?

Yes, I just go over them again and again searching for meaning and reviewing whether or not I liked it/had a secret desire to do it and could be capable. It's rumination and I'm trying to stop, but it's easier said than done. You're not alone!

Sometimes when I see a cute girl, I automatically imagine the expressions she would made if I hold her throat and start squeezing. Slowly, starting with pain, a bit more, pain becoming fear, I imagine the tears, the mouth opening, the life fainting in a dramatic, poetic, and sexual way.

...

But mostly, the thoughts only threaten me. "You should be dead". "Going to rip your eyes". "I will disembowel you, son of a bitch" .

I've been having intrusive thoughts these last few days that I could have "accidentally molested a kid with my eyes". I know that's completely illogical, but they are still really upsetting.

Confessor: That must be horrible. So your main topics are harm and self-harm?

CloudShark: I had the fear of having molested a child, too. It wasn't the fear of having them molested with my eyes but after normal situations with children I thought that I molested them somehow.

tanja, by that I meant that I had looked at them inappropriately, not actually molested them with my eyes. POCD sucks big time.

Yes. Violence in general.
Punching random people.
Killing spree on a party.

But I already accepted that I have an evil nature. I born evil, and this will not change.

PTSD

The whole of my mind is one big intrusive thought! The past rules me because Im drown in it! its over my head! and it consumes reality! I have no outer reality! that, However, is changing!

Because of recovery work, a large area of open space is reserved for the outside world and God and success thinking! this has taken brute work in the recovery area to muster!

I battle much with forgiveness! it takes allot of forgiveness for me to finally forget my thoughts associated with the past!

Its important to start being honest with myself and my condition in the present and to build or look into building successful thinking for the future! My future manifestations!
