Your ocd is taking your attraction to other women and going to the extreme because of your fears I think. Everyone has crushes that aren't going to mean anything but harmless infatuation. You and snaga just happen to get that more often than others.

Thanks for your advice. I think you are right.
No one seems to be answering my questions about friendships, though. Maybe that's not OCD. But I'm thinking if the psychiatrist said my partner not loving me is an intrusive thought, then I wonder if 'my friends don't care about me' is also an intrusive thought and hence OCD.
I keep asking the same question over and over, sorry. But no one has answered it.

I would say because there's obsessing over it and doubts yes falls under your ocd. I'd say for now go with the fact that it's ocd until there's enough real proof otherwise.

Thank you. My first reaction to your reply was relief. Then I thought 'what if he (she? Sorry I don't know) is wrong?' then worried I don't have OCD.
I think I'm a lost cause.

I'm a he but not totally cis since I have a bit of boob envy sometimes :p. I've not had that type of infatuation or that many close friends. Or maybe I'm just not allowing myself to be infatuated in the event my fear is real. Sadly I'm also worried I don't say enough to my therapist. She doesn't know enough about ocd to help with the core issue there. I don't even know if my fear isn't real. I tried telling mum that I am and stuff but it didn't really feel like relief for more than a second.
Kah80, having insight to whatever things are ocd for you isn't necessary. The requirement for ocd diagnosis no longer requires patients to know they their fears are irrational.

I have such a strong feeling that I need to know. It drives me mad.
Thank you for your insight anyway and hope things improve for you.

I don't think I will. I've been feeling like a lost cause trying to understand this ocd for a while.

I'm sorry to hear that. OCD is certainly crafty.

Yeah, assuming my issues stem from OCD alone, too.

Been thinking about my parents today. They only show they love me by giving me money. I told them I have OCD and they said they weren't surprised and then never mentioned it again. When I took an overdose years ago they didn't say much either.
It got me thinking that probably I want attention so much as I never felt I got it from them.
Then I googled 'can parents cause OCD' and read that they can't, and now I'm doubting that I have OCD again. Maybe they just made me have low confidence and it's not OCD at all?
