What exactly is a gronial?

Postby Richard671 » Fri Oct 10, 2014 9:06 pm

I get these sensations down there when my ocd acts on sexual triggers but I'm confused on to why it happens?

It's just a byproduct of anxiety. Anxiety causes all kinds of unpleasant feelings 'down there'. It causes tingling, a feeling of tension, feeling of blood circulating to your genitals, and even actual arousal (in cases when you're extremely against getting aroused, you get aroused as a reverse reaction).

OCD can be a vicious disease if you give it strength. And by checking, you are only strengthening it further. End your obsessions ASAP, and start doing other things. Exercise, study, watch movies (without triggering scenes, if possible, avoid pornography and other erotic material, instead have sex with your partner). Trust me, I gave it a lot of 'food' and topics for obsession, and it has become incredibly strong. End it now, while you're ahead!

Good luck!

I find it so hard to control, they have almost become like a natural response and part of me when Before I would never have them towards that particular trigger. I've had Hocd years ago, then turned into pocd, then into another theme now which is hard to explain but now whenever I'm confronted by it its like almost automatic. It makes me so confused and anxious. Is it because i give it so much credit that now my brain quickly recognizes the threat and applies that gronial? As soon as it happens does my brain automatically focus on that area ?

Your brain is increasingly active when you have OCD. It means it produces negative/repulsive/scary thoughts, which are of course related to something you find unacceptable. The main weapons of OCD are fear and doubt. Both are recurring if you give them strength. Another weapon OCD likes to use is so-called groinal response. Your brain which is currently embraced by OCD reacts to triggers from the outside world with anxiety, it just knows what would trigger you. That anxiety, coupled with your fear of becoming aroused creates an imitation of arousal, sending impulses and redirecting blood flow to your groinal area. It creates some odd feelings and sensations which i explained in my earlier posts. It has absolutely nothing to do with your sexual preferences and you should treat it as a silly reaction that it is. Practice not giving any significance to it, because it doesn't deserve any.

If you had any urges of homosexual/pedophilic/any other nature, you would know, trust me. A person doesn't change his/her sexual preference overnight.

Good luck!
