Anyone else deal with TOCD? Transgender OCD

It seems like a lot of people deal with HOCD and POCD but not a lot deal with TOCD, which stands for transgender OCD. I'm just wondering if anyone else has been dealing with this? This one seems a lil silly to me because I've been worried sick (HOCD) for a good 2 months worried that I was turning lesbian and then all of a sudden boom, TOCD - which would mean I would end up being a boy and dating girls. This one kills me because I feel like I'm losing myself than my orientation. Hopefully, there's some other people who I can talk to as well.

no, T-OCD is also common in OCD. you certainly not alone in this. and yeah OCD can jump into something new. but it's still anxiety in the end. i hope you don't give it any attention

thank you for replying back!! i do see some but not as much as hocd/pocd. only because i want to keep reading stories and reassure myself WHICH is a bad thing to do. lol. i hope it's anxiety, i've been driving myself nuts for the past month about this. seem a lot worst than hocd which i dealt with as well for a good 2 months.

anxiety makes it feel soooo real. oh man. hocd (thought i was really turning into a lesbian), same thing here with tocd (really feeling like i am turning into a man).

this sucks.

I run into Pure-O sufferers with HOCD or TOCD so often. I constantly hear the phrase "soooo real" etc. It's not uncommon for them to be completely convinced of their fear. I can't diagnose, but yes this seems to me like yet another textbook case of TOCD.

i think you are talking about someone name freshguy or something like that. i read all of his post. i read all of tocd post to see if i am one or not, and i know i'm not, and it's just ocd; but like you said, it just feels really, really weird. i've talked to some real transgender people from the sexual section of the forum and they said it's ocd as well. lol. i don't/can't relate to their story. i thought freshguy was dealing with tocd, he figured out that he wasn't??

It can feel so real so I don't know what it is. I am hoping it is TOCD but everyday I have thoughts saying I am a transsexual and it is horrible.

I definitely know what you mean when you said it feels real. I don't know about you but I dealt with HOCD before TOCD happened. I dealt with HOCD for about 2 months and those thoughts are completely gone, but now I'm dealing with TOCD. It's just so silly to me. I've been worried sick about being gay and it would be soo weird to want to be a guy so I can date girls? No thanks. I know it's OCD because these thoughts are just like HOCD, unwanted and intrusive. I don't know about yours though. I'm sure it's OCD. I'm positive. Also, have to remember before any of this stupid OCD happen to me, I was a very happy person, so I know that it's OCD because I never had any signs of being gay/transgendered in my entire life until now. So, more often than not, if you've never had any of these problems before and they just suddenly happen, you're not gay/transgendered; those people know a lil more earlier in life than right now.
