Is it possible to have more than one type of OCD?

Postby Thanatos12 » Sun Jan 05, 2014 4:11 pm

I am fairly certain I have Pure O. For example, I worry about having done something horrible in the past despite mountains of evidence to the contrary and I focus intensely on it in my mind. However, there are some compulsions, such as looking on the internet to see if I broke the law or not and asking for reassurance (though this has declined tremendously since I started CBT). Is it possible to have more than one type of OCD?

Yes. You can Obsess about any number of things. In my worst times I had more than one problem, although normally I would have one or two, try to find some relief from them (compulsive behavior) and then something else would take their place.

Yes. I have fears about 2 or 3 things at a time. U probably do mental compulsions like me. The fact that u r on here asking could even be a form of checking and or reassurance. Take care. Let the thoughts exist but try not to attach meaning to them. They mean nothing but your hopes desires and goals mean everything so do focus a lot on those good things :) Together we can do it.
