Hi,
I was wondering if you guys have any thoughts on why you might have developed ocd? I´d be happy to hear them. Personally I belive for me it has to do with when I was little. I was, and am, very sensitive. I have always worried a lot. I went to lots of different day cares which might have encreased my feelings of unsecurity, worries, loneliness and I think this has made me kind of still feeling like a child in a way. I have a strong need of security and a desire to be taken care of and I break very easily. Not in the sense that I´m crying a lot but just on the inside. It´s quite self-distructive but I don´t feel like I will ever really stop feeling that way. I would be very happy if you´d like to tell me your story.
Be well, Lovisa.

Hey,
I also worried a lot as a child and I can pinpoint one moment from my childhood from which the worry stemmed from: The day I thought my mother was kidnapped. However, I have always been OCD but it is common for people with the syndrome that (I think) I have. As such it is 'in-built' into me.

I agree that it probably is built in but I find it interesting why our way of coping is ocd because it might as well have been somrthing else.

Hey,
I believe that our way of coping is through OCD because of the actual physiology of our brains, and, as such, our genes. I amen't saying that we were born to be OCD but our genes definately dictate how our brains develop. It follows that people's genes are different and therefore, peoples' brains develop differently.
So, other people whose brains have developed in different ways from ours would cope through other methods. However, my brain and your brain have developed alike and thus we are both susceptable to becoming OCD.
...I think..
