Hi JDW,
I don't have any books suggest, but I do have some other tips you may find helpful.
Personally, the best tool is yourself. Tell yourself, you have PureO, that's it. Now you know, work alongside it, not try to escape (although that is extremely common, for anyone suffering). Constantly remind yourself, it's your condition. To me that is the ultimate tool, reassurance.
Secondly, after years of dealing with intrusive thoughts of all nature, I believe the best thing to do is continually educate yourself. Not only about the illness, but about the modern world, history, science, music, authors, dates, etc. Just never stop learning, I've found when engaging or reading something educational, your OCD may idle, leaving you with some peace of mind. Also try finding an interest, a hobby, etc. Cliché but will definitely help you to some extent!
All the best
