I also made an account here just for this discussion (and I know it's been like a year since anyone posted here but oh well).
I can relate to so much of this!! I don't even remember when it started, but I have specific memories related to this going back at least to when I was 7 (now I'm 23).
I experience the pressure thing a lot, with my hands and feet. I have to step on cracks evenly. Tiled floors are my worst enemy! If one foot steps mostly on black tiles and the other steps mostly on white tiles, I HAVE to adjust my steps to make it even. Also (especially if I'm barefoot) I have to have both feet on carpet or both feet on hard floor. If there's a rug in the room, both feet have to be on or off.
My biggest problem hasn't been mentioned by anyone yet: temperature. If one side of my body feels colder or warmer than the other, I HAVE to even it out. I've heard friends say that if it's too hot when they're sleeping but they still want to use a blanket, they'll just stick one foot out of the blanket. Even TYPING about that concept makes me feel uncomfortable. I know in the early 2000's there was a trend of having uneven shirt sleeve lengths. One arm would have to be warmer than the other, so that's a no from me dawg! The AC vent in my room comes from the left when I'm in bed, so I'll literally turn around with my head at the footboard sometimes just so my right side can start getting cold too. Putting on shoes is horrifying. One shoe has to go on before the other (cause I don't think it's possible to put both shoes on at the same time), meaning a few seconds of unevenness (although I usually put the first shoe on whichever foot feels colder at the moment, in hopes that that foot will warm up a little bit by the time I get my other shoe on).
Those are just a few examples, but I'm SO glad I'm not the only person with this problem! I usually forget I even have this problem because my weird rituals caused by it are such an integral part of my life that I'm pretty good at hiding them and I forget that normal people don't do this too.
Does anyone else experience the weird temperature thing? Or any other things not mentioned?
