OK so normally my OCD manifests itself in other ways but I realised I have a thing for needing a clean nose, ears and fingernails. I get really anxious if I even think they arent clean.
So I got a "conch" piercing, which goes through the centre of the ear. Ive had it for a year, and because of needing to have clean ears, I kept touching it and " cleaning" it until the point where it got infected and has scarring on it.
So I was told by a few piercists and friends that the best thing to do was to crush up an aspirin with a little bit of water and apply it as a paste before you go to bed.
I wanted to die last night when we did this...I kept touching it and picking but at the same time trying not to touch around the piercing.
Even now im feeling exceptionally anxious because I wanna touch it and fix it, but I know that I cant, so im holding myself back.
Arghhhh

When do the urges usually appear - Day-time or night-time? (Both?)
Next time you get the urge to scratch try to take a step back and think about it for a while. Slow things down and don't rush through your day. I have discovered that some people with OCD are people who rush through their day and do not give time to themselves. So take it easy for a while my friend. Relax.
