Most disgusting case ever

I'm not sure where to post this as it's not true trichotillomania, but this forum is the only place i've seen symptoms even remotely similar to mine (although nowhere near as disgusting)

I should start out by saying that I know how gross this is and I have hated myself for years because of it. There have been points in my life when I've been able to repress it and live a decently happy life ...

A group for young UK trich-sufferers?

I was thinking of maybe making a facebook or whatsapp group, specifically for trich-sufferers in the UK (age range 18-35).
I have never seen something like this before, where trich-sufferers can instantly communicate and have a support group they can reach out to at anytime.

Anyone interested, or willing to offer any more suggestions?
:)
Thank you

Don't want to do it anymore.

Hello, I am 16 and I don't think my hair pulling is as severe as others but I want to quit now. It's really embarrassing since I pull all sorts of hair and not just head hair. Once I pulled my eyebrow hairs and my mom thought I shaved them and yelled at me. I told her didn't shave them which is true but I still feel bad. I pull hair from my head the ...

Pulling Out Pubic Hairs - normal?

Hello, I have been struggling with trichotillomania mainly from my scalp for around five years now. I also struggle with a fixation of pulling out my pubic hairs, especially using scissors to dig out ingrown hairs and tweezers to pull them out with.
My scalp is of main concern as it is obviously the most visible and I also get this tingly feeling after pulling once or twice which sends me into pulling out at ...

Understanding Trich

I've just finished a course of counselling and even the counsellor thought it was ending at an inopportune moment because we were just getting in to some really important realisations but thats the way things are. I spent my last session talking about my trichotillomania and issues with food. That was really tough. I've had these issues for as long as I can remember, but today was just so raw. I lied to my parents ...

"nor should it be diagnosed if someone bites"

I just discovered trich today, and at first it sounded like exactly what I've been experiencing for the past decade, give or take. I got a 59% (severe) result on this quiz. But then I came across this line in an article about the DSM5 section on trich: "nor should it be diagnosed if someone bites instead of pulls the hair," and now I'm not so sure.

I spend hours every day "messing with my ...

Will buzzcut show pulled areas?

Hi, last year I started pulling pretty bad, like most people I kinda ignored it at first and didnt think it was a problem. It was when I started noticing a bald spot that I realised this wasnt good. I kept picking and it was pretty bad, I finally said it was enough and for the last 6 months I have cut back tremendously and now pick a few times a day at most, and ...

What haircut should I get?

Hi, guys I am new to this forum and realize it's not very active but I need some help. I haven't pulled my hair in 54 days, which is great!

I'm going on vacation in the beginning of May and I really don't want to have to wear a wig the whole time. It's been 4 years since I have worn my own natural hair out and about without a hat or extensions or a ...
