Sedatephobia: The extreme and irrational fear of silence

This is mostly so I can talk about this? Nobody in my personal life cares to listen, so shouting to the void of a forum works. At least I get my thoughts out.

So, I have sedatephobia. It's the extreme fear of silence. From a brief search, it seems this phobia isn't uncommon, which means there's a decent chance someone reading this could know how this fear feels.

I've been struggling with this phobia for ...

Phobia, OCD, or What?

For my entire life I been dealing with a weird phobia of ripped/torn upholstery and bedding. I have found myself missing out on social interactions because of this fear, because I am afraid to be in a situation where I am faced with dealing with it. I can never sit in the booth at a restaurant, or sleep in a hotel that has tears in its bedding. Forget having to sit in a taxi that ...

Is this a phobia?

So I have GERD (heartburn/reflux), and I experience pain from it 24/7. But I can trigger it and cause it to severely worsen by thinking about or attempting almost any kind of task (ex. cooking, talking, drawing, reading, chores, etc.). The task just feels like too much. I avoid tasks when I can because I don't want to experience physical pain, but I can't always avoid them. Could it be a phobia like ponophobia (fear ...

Hindering fear of pain

I know that most people fear pain, but I don't know anybody who fears it like I do.

To give examples: I won't wear a plaster because of the pain taking it off, I will run until it hurts (I see the glaring irony) and throw my self on the floor to escape bees wasps and ladybirds just to then start crying in pain once I hit the floor. In fact, when confronted with bees ...
