Need some reassurance- losing it

Hi there, I'm new here so quick bit of background. I'm a 39 year old female whos had issues with sleep-maintenance insomnia for most of my adult life but it's getting bad.
I now go to bed about 11-11:30 and fall asleep fairly quickly but I sleep very lightly and anything can wake me up. That's when the real issue starts as I can't get back to sleep even though I'm so tired I'm yawning. ...

Hearing Voices Before Going to Bed

So tonight I was trying to go to sleep, but I kept hearing people talking. It sounded very quiet, like they were outside, but there was no one there. I've heard things like this a few times before but never repeatedly. I've also read of other people with this problem who don't suffer from anything else. It is more common for me to hear sounds I would normally hear like my dad using the bathroom ...

No stress no apnea - broken sleep

Been like this for a year now. It was good for about a month... last month... but I was taking benadryl allergy medicine.

It's not sleep hygiene as I tried to have perfect hygiene (no tv, no lights, orange lense glasses all few hours before bedtime, etc) but I still have broken sleep. It's not sleep apnea as I've been tested for a take home sleep study. I used to have sleep paralysis a lot ...

Anyone want to try sleep restriction?

Hi. Here's the story: I have a very bad case of insomnia. Tried Ambien, but woke up after 2 1/2 hours and couldn't get back to sleep. My doctor put me on Xanax (2mg) and it worked like a dream, slept through the night and life was wonderful. After 4 years it wore off. My doctor then put me on Trazodone, which does nothing but make me incredibly anxious and jumpy and weird feeling during ...

Chronic Insomnia Medication

My wife has been on sleeping pills for several years and has noticed that her sleep is now very bad. She has tried Zopiclone, Nitrazapam, Mirtazapine, Diazapam and Zolpidem.

Can anyone recommend any other long term acting sleep medicines that she might try?

Many thanks

N.

Insomnia and hopelessness

I'm 17 and have been diagnosed with GAD and depression in the last year, and have had on-and-off insomnia for over 2 years. Since I finished school and began holidays though, I've been up until 4-5am every night for weeks, and can't break the habit. I've gotten no sleep whatsoever 3 nights in the past 2 weeks. One of those nights I forced myself to do an all-nighter to try and make myself tired enough ...

Weird Sensations Making Me Afraid to Lie Down/Try And Sleep

Hi there,

Before you go "Woah, I'm not reading all that.", please, at least skim over what I've written, because this is getting difficult for me and I really have no idea what to do.

I often have these weird sensations as I'm trying to sleep; I get this bizarre falling sensation. I know it's NOT a hypnagogic jerk, because I don't have to be falling sleep or even feel sleepy for it to happen; ...

Sleep Doctor almost ready to give up on me

I started having bad insomnia since April. The cause is primarily anxiety as a result of a couple of life events which I have been handling better, but still have some anxiety from them. On any rate, my insomnia has only improved very slightly; I am lucky to get 3-4 hours sleep on my own and it's not a deep sleep at that leaving me exhausted.

I started seeing the sleep Dr. (who is supposed ...

Where to begin? I'd like your opinion on the matter.

Note: I don't have this nightmare disorder, not really, but I do often have the same nightmares for nights in a row before it switches to a different one that trails on for a while, again and again. This just seemed to be the most proper place to post this, and it's on my mind, this is a forum, so why not?
