Nightmare with real physical effects

There is one nightmare, that I have had twice in my life that will always stick with me, it happened once when I was around 7 years old and once when I was 16. The dream itself doesn't sound scary in the slightest, but felt more real than any other dream hundreds of times over. In the dream, which is very short, there would be enormous grey balls rolling very slowly, I can't tell you ...

Mandibular advancement devices for snoring?

Hey everyone,

Wanted to ask you all for some input on an issue that has been bothering my wife and I for a while now.
I've been having a lot of trouble with snoring – It hasn't been bothering me so much, other than not feeling quite rested after sleep – but it is really driving my wife crazy. It has gotten so bad that we spend about half the time in different beds. That ...

Violent Nightmare

Yesterday I got a nightmare where my friend was shown dead on TV and then the news broadcast showed the death of a politician. I've had nightmares before where woman is having her legs chopped off, and one fellow watches helplessly, he wants to save but can't. Then there is a nightmare where a woman is humiliated on TV(like a reality show or something) and the woman fights back with the audience.

What could this ...

I cannot wake up

Hi everyone,

this is basically my first post. I don't know if I have found the right forum section, but I will still try stating my problem here. I am a 26 year old woman.

My problem is that I cannot wake up in the mornings by myself. This is not because I dont want to, it is because I simply do not wake up. I have to set an alarm every day, ever since ...

Possible Insomnia

Hi. I'm messaging on behalf of a friend who's excessively tired and having trouble sleeping, waking up really early in the morning. I have insomnia and have for at least ten years, and I consider two hours sleep a night fantastic and I'll probably even that out by having a half hour nap the next day.

My friend sleeps the "average 8 hours", but every so often she goes through these stages of waking up ...

Insomnia causing brain damage?

Sorry this isnt written out that well, the following is about all i can manage with my current mental state.

For the past 6 months my sleep routine has been destroyed. The only thing that I can think of is when I started having back pain only while sleeping. I have no back pain when walking around doing stuff but only in the morning when I wake up. Once every few days or weeks it seems like a can get a full night sleep in I am lucky but lately it has been where I ...

For folks who have had insomnia forever -- what causes it?

Hey!

I'm new to this forum, but I've had insomnia forever. Honestly, it just feels like everybody else has magically been able to sleep well from birth, and I just don't have that magic. It takes me, at my best, maybe an hour to fall asleep each night, but usually, it's more like three. And sometimes I just don't sleep for a couple days. No anxiety or anything, just no sleep. This has got to ...
