New problem, confused and scared

Hi there,

About me - I'm 21y/o female, pretty healthy, very physically active (hiking, climbing, etc). My whole life I've described myself as a 'morning person' and generally wake up around 8 am on my own.

I'm in a new dorm room at college and my side of the room gets zero natural light - what comes through shines on the door, not on my living space. Mostly my roommate keeps the blinds halfway down ...

How I found a cure for insomnia

Hey guys, since a month I don't have Insomnia anymore and I can not share how good that feels.
I have suffered from it for over 10 years, but since learning simple meditation techniques, I sleep every night. Not so much as a normal person, but my body is rested and my mind is bright.

I wrote a blog about it. Just some simple information on how the meditation works and how it affects me. ...

2 years sleep disrorder sufferer

Hello all,

I'm 26 and before being eligible for military service and joining the army, I almost always had a deep refreshing sleep; but still sometimes showed some potential for insomnia. there were nights that I struggled to get some sleep but they were far and few between.

It's been a little more than a year since military service has finished (which was for 21 months), and during those times, specially when I had to ...

Do I have Intermittent Insomnia?

I'm worried I might have intermittent insomnia. I've started exercising during the day and getting off the computer an hour before bed, and it seems to help, but I still have trouble sleeping about once every two weeks.

Itching all over body

I suffer from insomnia for about a month now for the first time of my life. I believe it started as a reaction to anxiety and stress i'm going through since i moved to a new country 7 months ago. But now my day anxiety and stress from work have lessened and transferred to the night time . meaning, the anxiety is only from me not sleeping.
Needless to say it's the worst thing i've ...

Frequent Sleep Terror + Nightmare Episodes??

Hello whoever reads this,

This is my first time using these forums, I've never really considered asking anyone about this, I have just shared it with friends the way people share stories not really expecting to get in return any sort of valuable information or feedback, but here I do wish someone would explain to me or at least give me their perspective on what happens to me during these episodes.

Last night I went ...

I can't sleep when I need to

Okay. When I REALLY need to sleep I can sleep but I usually want to sleep at class and I am very tired but when I arrive home I can't sleep or I don't want to. I sleep eight hours and I am eighteen. I think I need to sleep 10 hours but I can't. At weekends I wake up at seven and half like every day or maybe one hour later. Sometimes I try ...

Foods that can help my insomnia?

I've been having minor sleep problems and I think the main reason could be my diet. I regularly eat dinner at 10pm, and when I do, the main portion is either rice or pasta. Does anyone have similar experiences, and if you do, what foods would you recommend for me to eat instead? Thanks.

Addicted to Lorazepam?

I have bipolar and anxiety. I have been taking .5mg lorazepam during the day, for about 2 years. Started taking .5 at night also, to help me stay asllep, due to hip pain. Then I went into a deep bipolar depression, with the accompanying anxiety. I cannot fall asleep without lorazepam. I've tried trazadone, and up to 75 mg seroquel. 100 mg of seroquel used to knock me out like a hammer. I would like ...
