Night Terrors

I'm 26, and I've had night terrors for 9 years.

They used to be very vivid and last around 2 minutes. Now, they're short - about 10-20 seconds.
Before, I woke up thinking something ludicrous, like a bomb being in my room, and acting irrationally. Now, I usually swing my limbs and jump out of bed, thinking I'm dying.

I've learned tolerate it very well, I shrug it off, say I'll try to catch on ...

Suggestions for falling asleep

Hi, new here, joined a while back and have browsed all sorts of stuff. I'll go over quick what my problem is and then what i've tried. Any and all advice is appreciated.

My problem has nothing to do with staying asleep or getting enough sleep. Once i'm asleep I have no real issues, and can even wake up and fall right back asleep. The problem I have is the initial falling asleep. I've had ...

I can't wake up in the morning.

I sleep 8 hours every night and in the morning when I'm hitting snooze, I'm not even fully conscious, I'm still dreaming. By the time I'm done hitting snooze 45 minutes later I finally realize that I'm awake and I need to get up for work, and I'm already running late. Because I can't consciously wake up at the time I'm supposed to. I've tried setting the alarm earlier but it doesn't work I still ...

"Side Effects" of Unknown Origin

For the past 3 or 4 years I've suffered from insomnia, however I only recently decided to seek medical help for it. I'm 22, female and I am a survivor of physical, emotional and sexual abuse, most of which though not all, ended at the age of 14. It feels like something is compelling me to stay awake. I'm utterly exhausted sure, but I feel like there's always something urgent or productive that should be ...

Constant disturbing dreams with religious or moral themes

When I was a child, I had frequent and recurring nightmares and bad dreams. They where of a similar nature to the ones I'm having now that are mentioned below. But as an adult (I am 35) and for many years, I had little or no dream recall at all. However, in recent years, I've had long-lasting periods in which nightmares or disturbing dreams have occurred nearly every single night.

I was diagnosed with OCD ...

Is there an explanation for my dream? *warning, very graphic*

****TRIGGER ALERT**** SOME PEOPLE WHO MAY HAVE BEEN ABUSED OR SOMETHING IN THE PAST MIGHT WANT TO STOP READING AT THIS POINT!***

Ok, I had this extremely disturbing and weird dream last night, and i want to get others opinions on why that might be.
First things first, I have in the past had pedophilic urges, but never acted, and never been on the verge of acting. My main focus group is girls age 10-14 ...

Sleep problem, need help!

I am a person who goes to bed by 10 pm because I am too sleepy by that time. The problem is, when I wake up to use the loo, I cannot go back to sleep that easy. Sometimes, it would take two hours before I can sleep again. What I did lately is to get up from bed and do some paper work to pass the time. I get sleepy at 9am so I ...

How do I stop thinking about sleep?

I'm almost at the end of my rope about my insomnia. It's gotten much worse in recent months. I started CPAP therapy in January and hoped that it would help, but it hasn't. While I don't necessarily blame my increasing insomnia on CPAP, I doubt it's helping much.

So I saw my sleep clinic doctor this week to tell him of my frustration- that in my case at least, there is no connection between my ...

Gathered Info To Write An Article On What Helped My Insomnia

All is said in the title! The only problem I really have is that you have to keep doing the right things forever in order to keep insomnia at bay. I've pretty much suffered from insomnia my whole life but without really realising what it was.

With chronic illnesses you don't really notice how bad you are until you get better. If you've been this way for years how would you know the difference. I ...
