A psych told me schizophrenia only appears after your late teenage years to early twenties...And if you've suffered from hallucinations from childhood-its something other than schizophrenia...They said schizophrenia is something you're not born with, it develops later in life...Is this bull?

I dont really wanna get into detail why I think I have schizophrenia, but I do think I have it. First of all, I'm 15 years old. is it possible, for while you are on medications, i am on risperdel and somthing like prozac, to still have anxiety and half sort of hallucantions, like today i thought i saw somone, but they were transparent, like half there half not. and i still see flashes,a dn when i have an episode, it feels like i'm fakeing it, like the feelings are there, but also are the feelings to overcome it, and it's like ...

I'm trying to help an old friend who has been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. She responded well to treatment in the past. Now she's living in a homeless shelter, not taking her medication, doesn't believe anything is wrong with her, has attempted suicide, and doesn't want to see any of her old friends. We'd have to do some detective work to find her.

How do I help her? Is there research on what works in ...

I still can not get my boyfriend to even consider he might he suufering from schizophrenia. He hears voices and swears someone must have planted a device in his ears. He says they talk about things he has no reference to or never heard before so it can't be "him." My question: when people hear voices can they be about things they have no knowledge of?

I described my illness to my doc, and she thinks I have depression.
