Schizophrenia is nothing more than a dream.

I'm definetly skeptical about Western medicine. I do have some problems and without taking medicine some of the symptoms of schizophrenia are evident. I started taking a antipsychotic one week ago. So far it hasn't done me much good, sure the symptoms have decreased but I feel knocked out and sedated. Also I can already notice some ridicoulous weight gain considering I've only been on the stuff for just over a week.

Their seems to be a lot of controversy surrounding anti-psychotics. Sure they may not cure the illness but don't they do some good? I'm curious to find out if their are some success storys of people who use anti-psychotics. I've read some of the world health studies and they do prove that schizophrneics have a much more successful recovery rate in in third world countries as opposed to first world countries.

What do you think the main reason is for this. Is it because of the meds used in first world countries or is it mainly the attitude of western culture towards towards schizophrenics?
