Waking With Sense of Urgency

What does it mean when you wake up in the middle of the night with a vague sense of urgency?

I often wake up with this unshakeable feeling that I'm supposed to be doing something very important. I sit there in a groggy haze trying to figure out what it is (but I never do, of course, because it's nothing). On a few occasions, I even got up and walked around upstairs in an effort ...

*MASSIVE TRIGGER WARNING*

So, apparently, I have non-rapid eye movement sleep (NREM) arousal parasomnia. Which means that when I sleep, I can have a tendency to rape the person who is sleeping next to me, unbeknownst to my consciousness.

NREM Arousal Parasomnia is a newly discovered condition, in which a person will engage in sexual activity while sleeping. This doesn't always go to the extreme of forced sex, however, in my case it does.

Fortunately, my fiance loves ...

Re: Is it hypnagogic hallucination or lucid dreaming?

I think that the boundary between these two is rather vague. Hypnagogia seems to be when you are aware that you are dreaming as you go from waking to sleeping. However, 'Lucid Dreaming' is just a general state of awareness that you are dreaming (normally - when we dream - we don't actually recognise that we're dreaming, and it seems real to us). To be honest, cynic, I would take a close look at your ...

Sexsomnia Documentary UK

I am a Student Film maker based in Coventry UK, and I am making a documentary film about the parasomnia known as Sexsomnia, or Sleep Sex. I'm looking for candidates to appear in the film, recounting their experiences of Sexsomnia.

The film is an attempt to greater publicise Sexsomnia, in terms of both the condition, its affect on relationships, and the potential dangers associated with it. I believe the condition is severly underrepresented in the ...

shaking / lucid dreaming

I woke up this morning and, as I often do, decided to go back to sleep. When I closed my eyes, though, I began to have very vivid imagery that started out as very small and then expanded to take up my entire field of vision. At the beginning there was a low ringing in my ears, and then I entered a dream that was like a car racing game, in which I was the ...

Sleep paralysis research

Hello,

I am a PhD student researching various aspects of sleep paralysis. If you have experienced sleep paralysis once or more and DO NOT have narcolepsy then I would greatly appreciate it if you would visit my webpages and complete a short questionniare. I am developing a new questionnaire to investigate sleep paralysis experiences and I need to analyse responses to this existing questionnaire before I start.

As I'm sure most of you know, sleep ...
