Self Esteem and the Past

Hey,
Well, I have major self esteem problems. I have been through so much in my life that I never seem to have very high self esteem. I hate the way I am and that brings my self esteem down even more. Between witnessing abuse, my parents getting divorced, being verbally abused, switching schools about 9 times, moving around a lot, not having many friends, and all the deaths that I've had to put up ...

Dealing with obsession and Trying to get her back

Ok. This is kind of a long story, but any feedback would be nice.

My ex-girlfriend and I dated for somewhere near 6 years. About a year and a half ago I proposed to her and it was more like pulling teeth for me. I felt pressured to move the relationship along to this point and so I did. It was a half-hearted proposal to say the least. About three months later, I decided to ...

Haircutting fetish

OK here goes. This is very difficult for me. I am 50 years old and for as long as I can remember I have been sexually aroused by seeing, talking about, or anything to do with a woman getting her hair cut.

I am ashamed to say that I usually masterbate in connection with this.

I don't know how it started and I can not control it. I am a Christian and do not feel ...

I had other episodes in November and January where my left had was also involved. In April ...

loving a histrionic

My boyfriend was diagnosed ADHD with Histrionic and Anti-Social personality disorder. I don't doubt the diagnosis, from what I have learned, he is a classic case. I fell in love with him, I moved him into my home with my daughter, and now understand what I have gotten myself into. I need advice on how to love a histrionic and have a healthy relationship, if a way exists. He loses control of himself frequently, and ...

Dogs get mental disorders too

Searching the Internet for information on Prozac, I just found an astonishing article on dogs suffering from a certain type of anxiety! Apparently, seven million dogs in the US suffer from that condition. I never thought that animals can have mental disorders, I knew that dogs experience some type of feelings that are like those of humans, like love, sadness, jealousy etc, but I had no idea that animals can have mental disorders too.

...

Self-esteem also involves accepting your shortcomings, limitations, and even failures. Therefore, knowledge and acceptance of yourself - both your good and bad characteristics - lay the groundwork for developing a healthy sense of self-esteem.

Low self-esteem can keep you from achieving goals and enjoying life fully. Before you can build ...
